A large number of very different test methods for testing the dispersion properties and dispersion behaviour of textile dyes are used world-wide. Apart from the well known tests described in the literature, user-specific methods are also frequently used. The methods mainly used are compiled, classified, described and evaluated here. The object is to indicate possibilities and limits as regards the significance and reproducibility of the individual tests
