Silver Medal awarded 2009 to Dr Andrew Hunter Morris Renfrew

For significant contribution to the field of reactive dye chemistry.

In summary regarding his achievements, Dr Renfrew  has over a 100 patents and scientific papers to his name whilst working at ICI/Zeneca and then as a research fellow at Leeds and Manchester Universities. He was chair of CIEB for the SDC and has written the definitive work on reactive dyeing for the SDC.
