Having held this event at the Merchant Adventurers’ Hall in York since 2014 (with some gaps due to Covid) the Society is now making a bold move to a new location and venue you will not want to miss! The venue for these events needs to be easily accessible by car, train and also with good connections to airports for our overseas visitors.
On location we have selected Chester due to its very good road and rail links, with frequent direct trains to Manchester airport and to London. Having looked at several venues with appropriate capacity we have selected the Chester Grosvenor Hotel (in Chester city centre). The hotel is 0.7 mile / 15 mins walk from Chester railway station and just 3 miles from the nearby motorway network.
The Chester Grosvenor Hotel was established in 1865 and is situated on Eastgate Street adjacent to the Victorian Eastgate Clock (said to be the most photographed clock in Britain after Big Ben) that sits above the city walls. Chester also has a very wide range of hotels to suit many different budgets as well as much to explore and see within walking distance and beyond.
The Chester Grosvenor Hotel has a multi-storey car park to the rear with direct access to the Westminster Suite, that we shall be using. The Westminster Suite includes entrance foyer with dedicated staffed cloak room and toilets, the Alford Foyer where we can gather before/after events and have space for displays, plus this area has a dedicated bar. The adjoining Belgrave Suite can accommodate up to 160 seated for dinner and has built in screen, projector and PA system.
We ask you to ‘save the date‘ in your diaries and booking is now open. The charge for attending the evening is in line with recent years at £70 pp incl VAT (if paid before 15th September).
